Tensile Test On Empty Hose

Tensile Test On Empty Hose Tensile Tests may be carried out at the Purchaser’s option, using the same hose that was subjected to the Minimum Bend Radius and Stiffness Tests. To undertake the test, the empty hose shall be installed in a straight line into a suitable test facility and the following performed: a – Apply a tensile load equivalent to the Allowable Axial Load (see Section 1.2.5) in ten equal increments. b – At each increment measure hose extension. c – Hold the load at the Allowable Axial Load for 15 minutes. Measure hose extension every 5 minutes d – Remove the load over a period of 5 minutes and measure hose extension. e – No damage should be evident. Permanent elongation should not exceed 0.7 per cent. f – Report axial Stiffness by plotting load against extension curve and measuring the curve slope.
